Get In My Tummy

Food it is a must have for survival, one thing you must do like drink water and rest to stay alive. So how have been eating in Europe? and what has been like? Each culture and place has its own food, America, fast food, the hot dog, hamburger, huge portions, Italy pasta and Finland deer yes poor little deer. I have tried to eat as many different types of cuisine as possible, which has lead to some pretty interesting meals, adding to the experience of that specific place. In Spain, Tapas are a hot item these little pieces of toasted bread with some sort of topping, some good, soem ordinary and good but others exotic, like the raw microwaved squid head soaked in its own ink, yeah weird. It wasn't bad I would eat it again but only if I was blind folded so I wouldn't see it's cross section. It tasted quite fishy but it should it come from the see. Even before Spain, Finland offered some different choices of meet like deer, which is quite good with its' complementary red berries on top (I can not remember what they are called). Croatia, fish is served in its' natural state even after it has been grilled, what does this meen? Well...the head, tail, skin andf bones are left intact, which makes eating fish quite a job. France they are known for ther snails and other odd meals, but hey, if have not tried it, you should snails have been one of my favorite little appetizers on this trip. I have only had them once but they were quite tasty. One thing I saw and will not eat however in France was a huge raw hamburger patty, that is just unhealthy. Raw meat, is not always that bad I have had raw ham slices many of times especially in Italy and Spain were pork is the meat of choice, and it has been quite good. I have also enjoyed the 11 euro kilo of mussels with frites (fries) you can buy in France, they make quite a meal. Denmark is was all fast food and some of the worst mexican food I have ever had. Though fast food in Scandenavia is quite a different experience. McDonalds, with leather seating, modern designs three stories tall, and they serve beer, what? You also get the Mc Cafe and walk up windows since driving in European cities is not that popular. So after beeing all these places Italy is has the best food hugfe thin crust pizzas fresh pasta and gelato, I didn't miss a day this summer. I did not think much of the italian foods when I first arrived but after four months outside Italy I couldn't wait to get back. Croatia besides the fish is almost liek eating in the U.S. big plates full of food with menus' full of international dishes, and hamburgers. Though nothing has come close to home cooking back in the US of A, that is one thing I can't wait for is American food, but for these next few weeks I am at least in Italia enjoying my pasta, pizza and gelati. So that is how I have filled my tummy in my Europe.
